I am looking to start a discussion about how people can help Freebie Society grow. We now have working referral links and mentor program. With every referral you bring here, you get first dibs on contacting that new user. So it is in your best interest to get your links out there. I am curious as to what people are doing and/or can do to get referrals to the forum. Anybody have any special techniques or strategies that you are willing to share? Have a homepage, blog, or traffic exchange that you like? Share that here and give tips to other members so they can learn to get the word out too!

Right now I have my link in a traffic exchange called ad-ventures4u...I surf there everyday and I'm sure people see the forum...I guess you can also put it in those voting pages but I don't know much about it...

Then Craigslist and yahoo answers is great to advertise (but not a ref link I think or you get reported)

Yes, yahoo answers and craigslist are both great places. But what would you advertise on craigslist so that the listing does not get deleted or marked as spam?

a small biz ad - just put your email in it to have people ask for it and then send the info...it might not be a great turn out but at least people take a look. You just have to renew your ad every 7 days and monitor the email inbox for questions...

advertise it as a at home income opportunity - a legit one of course - free to join and such Doesn't cost so we can try

I know a few traders that do the work at home business opportunity ad on craigslist and in local nedwspapers, and actually get hits off of it

I started a free blog on blogger.com with info on freebie trading and I used my link back from here to refer people to this site. Blogger is really good with SEO and after a few weeks of starting a new blog I always start to get good page view numbers. Just make the blog look nice and make sure everything is linked up right. You can add lots of tags in posts to draw people to your post or site. Blogger also has new templates and a new editor so it's not as lame looking as it once was.

Great idea about Craigslist. I never thought about doing that but now I'll have to go make some ads with my linkback.

I know this thread is kind of old - sorry but it gave me an idea. Since at least a few people have sites/blogs that advertise this forum is there a way everyone who does can post and we can link to each other. This would help everyone's traffic.

Yes, I think this is a great idea. I just created a new forum for this type of discussion about a week ago.
